Recruitment Terms and Conditions

Free-visa-free-ticket is an enforced provision of the Government of Nepal that came into effect on July 8, 2015

The free-visa, free-ticket scheme announced by the government in June 2015 requires employers to bear the expenses associated with the visa and round-trip air ticket and allowed recruitment agencies to charge a maximum of Rs 10,000 if the employer refused to pay the service charge. However, migrant workers still have to pay for insurance, medical check-up, and pre-departure orientation training, and contribute to the Migrant Welfare Fund, all of which cost them Rs 10000 (charges may apply as per country variation).

This policy applies to seven countries, namely, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia, which account for 95 percent of Nepalese going for labour abroad (excluding India).

Types of recruitment terms and conditions practiced before and after of enforced Free-Visa-Free-Ticket provision by the Nepal government

Free recruitment

Joining Air Ticket, Agency Service Charge, Medical Expenses, Embassy Fee, Orientation Cost, Insurance Cost, Welfare Fund, Advertisement Cost, and other charges if any (charges may apply as per country variation).

If the company agrees to pay the above expenses, the candidates will not be charged any amount by the recruitment agencies.

Visa and joining air ticket provided by the employer

If the company agrees to provide the Visa free of cost and Joining Air tickets, the candidates will be charged with Service Charge, Medical Expenses, Embassy fees, Orientation costs, Insurance costs, Welfare Fund, Advertisement Costs, and other charges if any (charges may apply as per country variation)

Joining air ticket not provided by the employer   (This is against the government rule)

If the Company is not providing joining Air Tickets, the candidates will be charged with Ticket Costs, Service Charges, Medical Expenses, Embassy Fees, Orientation Costs, Insurance Costs, Welfare Fund, Advertisement Costs, and other charges if any (charges may apply as per country variation).

Free recruitment is always the best option, in free recruitment the workers do not have to pay any charge to the recruitment agencies, lessening the overall departure cost of poor migrant workers who are compelled to maintain migration costs by borrowing money from landlords. This will release them from financial strain and provide them the opportunity to concentrate on their duties.

This will fasten the migration process (deployment) also, as the workers do not have to arrange massive amounts of money.
